Jazz Yourself Up for Caturday !

Oh a Rinky Tinky Tinky !

How many cat lovers remember Disney’s Aristocats?

The performance in Aristocats, “Everybody Wants to Be a Cat” was sung by: Phil Harris, Scatman Crothers, Thurl Ravenscroft, Vito Scotti, and Paul Winchell.

But did you know that was not the original script? The character Scat Cat that is voiced by Scatman Crothers was originally scripted to be Satchmo Cat, voiced by Louie Armstrong. The song original that was to be performed in this scene was a song written by the Sherman Brothers called “Le Jazz Hot” for Armstrong to sing. But Louie Armstong became ill and had to drop out at the last minute. Satchmo Cat was reworked to be Scat Cat and Scatman Crothers was brought in to voice him and sing “Everybody Wants to Be a Cat”.
