On June 3, 1784, the U.S. Army was officially established in its post Revolutionary War (this isn’t the ‘official’ birthday; but the ‘creation of’).
The regular Army won our independence, the Treaty of Paris ended the Revolutionary War and the Continental Army was disbanded and only a handful of soldiers remained to guard stores.
To offset this vulnerable state, the Congress of the Confederacy passed a resolution on June 3, 1784 to create the First American Regiment.
