Who can look at this beautiful rough collie by Time’s Tin Cup and not think of the TV Series, Lassie?
Lassie was a rough collie breed that stole families hearts in the early ’50s. The TV series ran for nearly 20 years.
The TV character Lassie was played by a male dog named Pal up until 1958. Cameramen were always careful to avoid camera shots that may disclose his gender.
Matter of fact, in the episode “Son of Lassie”, Pal actually played both his mother and son! I would hate to be this dog’s therapist! 🙂
Lassie also became the poster dog for the “Keep American Beautiful” campaign in the mid sixties.
