The Disneyland Sleeping Beauty Castle Glass Serving Tray available @ Time’s Tin Cup !
The Disneyland Sleeping Beauty Castle is the only Disney castle that was designed and built under the direct supervision of Walt Disney. It is the physical hub of the Disneyland Park. The castle uses a very deliberate color gradient. The bottom stones are painted a cold, earthy gray, while the upper blocks shift into soft, warm pinks and vibrant blues. The castle’s spires are heavily accented with real 22 karat gold leafing. This design draws the human eye upward, making the 77 foot structure feel taller and more whimsical.
Inside the castle, there was a hidden walk through attraction with animated models that mirrored the style of the standard “dark rides” found elsewhere in Fantasyland. After September 11, 2001, threats and security forced the interior corridors of this castle closed to the public. In 2008, portions of the interior were reopened with special effects.
This vintage glass tray at Time’s Tin Cup features a detailed printed image of Disneyland’s iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle, marked with “Walt Disney Productions”.
