Mother’s Day – Antique Commemorative Plaque

By iDenville on May 6, 2026May 6, 2026

Antique Mother’s Day Commemorative Plaque c.1910s | Whistler’s Mother @ Time’s Tin Cup !

A wonderful piece of early American holiday history — this oval convex glass plaque dates to the 1910s–1920s, the very decade Mother’s Day became a national institution. Centered on a reproduction of James McNeill Whistler’s 1871 iconic painting, “Arrangement in Grey and Black No. 1”. It is paired with a gold printed sentimental verse. It captures the earnest sentiment of the era perfectly. The speckled gold composition frame retains its original patina, and the convex glass is intact. A lovely display piece for a vintage parlor, ephemera collection, or anyone who loves the history of American holidays. Marked © NANC (National Art Company or similar publisher).
