Betty Boop Print

By iDenville on November 10, 2025November 10, 2025

Betty Boop Print @ Time’s Tin Cup !

Betty Boop was inspired by a Black jazz singer from Harlem named Esther Jones, also known as “Baby Esther,” who performed at the Cotton Club in the 1920s. Jones’s childlike voice and scat singing style, which included the “Boop-oop-a-doo” catchphrase, were the primary inspirations for the character.

The enduring image of Betty is a flapper in a strapless minidress, with a garter peeking out above her knee and large hoop earrings in her ears.

Initially, Betty was depicted as a dog with a button nose and floppy ears. But Betty evolved to be a fully human, female animated character.
