The Love of Fishing

By Lisa Ostella on January 30, 2023November 15, 2024
June Weaver Old Fisherman @ Time’s Tin Cup !

My father fashioned my first fishing rig when I was 2 years old. He tied a string to a log with some fishing line, hook and sinker. My first catch was an eel. With his guidance, I removed the skin and cleaned it. I proudly barbecued it and ate it. I wore that eel skin as an anklet the rest of the summer. After that first catch, my father made me a bamboo fishing pole. I still have it and it was all of my children’s first fishing pole.

Northern New Jersey has some of the best ponds and lakes for fishing. Matter of fact, #MorrisCty , Sussex and Warren Counties even have lakes stocked with landlocked salmon.

#MorrisCty ‘s own Nature Photographer, Dave Blinder . Landlocked Salmon from our own local lakes.
