A Spot of Tea @ Time’s Tin Cup !
Tea. Relaxing, medicinal, status, and refreshing. But what of the simplistic bag that is used to brew a cup? The tea bag. It was invented by accident!
Thomas Sullivan was a New York tea merchant in 1908. He would send samples of teas to customers in small silken bags. Instead of emptying the tea from the sample bags, the customers left the tea leaves in the small silk sachets to brew the tea. The birth of the tea bag! Today is National Handmade Day.
