Chess is a noble two player strategy game that requires skill.

Chess was born out of the Indian game chaturanga before 600 AD. The game spread throughout Asia and Europe over the coming centuries, and eventually evolved into what we know as chess around the 16th century.

The Piazza Castello in Marostica, Italy enchants the world every 2 years with a timeless re-enactment of an ageless love story with a human chess match performance. This legend dates back to 1454 when two knights, Rinaldo d’Angarano and Vieri da Vallonara challenged one another for the hand of marriage of Lionora, daughter of the Governor of Marostica. The Governor decreed the challenge to be a noble game of chess rather than a duel to the death. This legend has been reenacted since 1923. Watch!
