Vintage Straw Boat Hat @ Time’s Tin Cup !
The Straw Boat Hat; also known as, a Sennet Hat was used by the British Royal Navy during the summer months. The straw hats provided some relief to winds and water on long voyages. Many gondoliers still wear versions of these straw boat hats.
Over time, the Straw Boat Hat went from being an item of military issue to a fashionable and summer accessory. Even some English schools use the straw boat hat as part of the school uniform.
Disney fans should recognize the straw boat hat from this famous quartet, The Dapper Dans.
