S. Donald Stookey, a physicist and chemist, was born this day, May 23, 1915. He invented CorningWare.
Both CorningWare and Pyrex were manufactured by Corning Glass Works out of Corning, New York.
Corningware was originally developed for military applications during #WW2; but CorningWare®’s Pyroceram®, proved effective for bakeware in the home after the war.
