Napcoware Duck Garden Planters @ Time’s Tin Cup !

January 31st is celebrated as #SeedSwapDay on the National Calendar. This day is a reminder to gardeners that spring is on the way and time to start preparing seeds indoors. These whimsical duck planters would be a precious addition for spring gardening !

These duck planters are charming pieces of mid-century ceramic ware, likely produced in Japan during the height of the collectible ceramic craze.

Japanese ceramic manufacturers were known for their ability to produce high-quality, affordable goods that appealed to a wide range of consumers. These duck planters, with their glossy finish and playful expressions, are a testament to the craftsmanship and design sensibilities of the time.

To prepare now for your spring gardens, many County Extension services participate in Seed Swaps. They will collaborate events for swapping seeds, hosting classes for starting seeds and overviews of plant types, supplies and care. Check your Extension offices calendars!

During #WW1 and #WW2, people were asked to work every bit of land possible to produce their own food in a successful movement called Sowing the Seeds of Victory. There were 20,000,000 Victory Gardens recorded that were created by U.S. citizens. They grew 40 percent of all the fresh fruits and vegetables consumed.
