Egyptian Sarcophagus

By Lisa Ostella on November 12, 2020November 12, 2020

Egyptian tombs and sarcophagi were carefully concealed from the public and never meant to be for public display. It was of religious importance to keep intruders from viewing burial chambers to allow a safe passage for the deceased to the underworld.

Recently, archaeologists unearthed a trove of coffins in Saqqara, Egypt. These sarcophagi are said to be more than 2,500 years old. It is believed these coffins contain statesman and priests from 664 B.C. to 525 B.C.

Archaeologists shared their discover with the world live:

The replica of the Egyptian Sarcophagus Golden Mask that Times Tin Cup has for sale is a representation of the Egyptian Pharaoh, Tutankhamun aka King Tut.

King Tut ruled New Kingdom (today’s Egypt) during the 18th Dynasty at the age of 8 years old.
