The Campbell Soup Kids were created by a trail blazing woman cartoonist, Grace Dayton.
Grace Dayton was an illustrator of children’s books such as Terrible Tales of Captain Kiddo. She also created comic characters like Dolly Dimples and Toodles.
She created some street car ads for Campbell Soup in 1904 and the phenomenon of the Campbell Soup kids began. Campbell’s licensed the E.I. Horsman Company to make dolls in their likeness. This Campbell’s Soup Kid Boy Doll is one of them and is available @ Time’s Tin Cup !
