Borden Condensed Milk Company, now known as Borden Dairy, is a company with a rich history rooted in the invention of condensed milk. Gail Borden, the company’s founder, patented the process of condensing milk by vacuum in 1856, revolutionizing milk preservation and distribution. Bordon offered the first way to preserve milk without refrigeration, U.S. Patent No. 15,553. This method improved people’s diet and helped change the dairy business. Bordon was inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame.

Borden Dairy Company, filed for bankruptcy in 2020 after being bought out by Capitol Peak Partners.

Evaporated malted milk is a powder made from a combination of malted barley, wheat flour, and evaporated whole milk. It’s known for its distinctive, slightly sweet, and toasty flavor, and is used to add depth and complexity to various foods and beverages. It’s a key ingredient in malted milkshakes, malt balls, and is also used in baking.
