Glass and Metal Napkin Holder of the Majestic Owl
Owls are the most intriguing and fascinating raptors in the world.
The multitude of legends and symbolism of owls stimulate the collector community because the various meanings are personal to each collector.
Throughout history, cultural lore have regarded owls with fascination and awe. The owl has been both feared and venerated. Legends have associated owls with witchcraft, medicine, weather, birth and death.
Zoological studies of Owls have reduced the mystery surrounding these birds. Superstitions that surrounded these majestic birds have mainly died out in the twenty first century – here in the USA, at least – education has returned the owl to a symbol of wisdom.
Studies of owls have brought us many fun facts. For example, a flock of owls is called a parliament. The tiniest owl in the world is the Elf Owl . It only grows to 5 inches. The largest is the Blakiston’s Fish Owl which can grow up to 28 inches.
We are very fortunate here in #MorrisCty to have a zoological education center like TheRaptorTrust.org . This group not only rehabilitates and releases wild birds of prey. But they use ambassador birds to educate people about the species.
