Do you know the oldest legend of Mermaids comes from Ancient Greece. It is said that Alexander the Great’s sister, Thessalonike, turned into a Mermaid upon her death. Whenever a ship passed she would ask the sailors one question: Is King Alexander alive? If they answered correctly, saying “He lives and reigns and conquers the world,” she would calm the waters and bid the ship farewell. Any other answer would anger her, causing a terrible storm, and doom the sailors and ship to a death at sea.
