By Lisa Ostella on January 28, 2022October 28, 2024
Rosie the Riveter available at Time’s Tin Cup !

Rosie the Riveter was the star of a campaign aimed at recruiting female workers for defense industries during World War 2. The increase of women in the workforce was greatest in the aviation industry.

Rosie the Riveter was based off of Rosalind P. Walter. She was one of many women that entered the workforce.

Rosalind Walter was the living person that inspired iconic character of Rosie the Riveter which first began as a song and evolved to poster art for patriotism.
