Snap-On Vintage Dart Board
Vintage Dart Board available @ Time’s Tin Cup
The game of darts was started as a military past time in England during the medieval era circa 1300s.
The game started with throwing spears at wine barrels. Since this game was effective in developing soldiers throwing skills; it evolved with consistent rules for competition.
The sectioning that appears on modern dart boards came from the use of tree trunks growth rings and cracks.
The popularity of the game grew and gained traction among the military ranks; as well as, with the royal court throughout Europe.
A carpenter named Brian Gamlin is credited for adding the numbers to the dart boards he started to manufacture. The sequencing of the numbers were displayed in such a way to help improve skill and make it harder to win just by chance.
