Vintage Aunt Jemima Pancake Molds with a touch of #MorrisCty !

Vintage Pancake Mold by Aunt Jemima with a ‘little bit’ of #MorrisCty heritage!

#MorrisCty Legend Ethel Harper went from orphan of the 1903 Black Belt of Alabama to teacher, international singer/dancer, globally known brand representative and then #MorrisCty community leader!

An unsung trail blazing inspiring #MorrisCty legend, Ethel Harper, aka “The Singing School Teacher from Alabama” by Apollo Theater. Harper performed throughout the U.S. and Europe with the Four Ginger Snaps. Harper also performed for our U.S. Soldiers overseas during WW2.

But what does this have to do with an Aunt Jemima pancake mold?

In 1950, Ethel Harper auditioned to be Quaker Oats’ Brand Representative, Aunt Jemima! She became the final inspirational image of Aunt Jemima.

After retiring from her role as Aunt Jemima, #MorrisCty became her home. Our community is blessed that she became a role model to our community children as the Morris Area Girl Scout Council leader until she passed on. Rest in peace Ethyl Harper. Thank you for being such an inspiration!
