This Greek Corinthian Vase is a replica of the Proto Corintian pottery from the 640-625 BC era. This time period used black figure styles of animal frieze of mythological scenes coupled with spherical flaring.
The replica of this mythological scene may be depicting the peacock, which was the bird of the Greek Goddess, Hera.
Goddess Hera had a peacock named Argus. Argus was tasked by Hera to use his “hundred eyes” (peacocks feathering depicts eyes) to spy on the Greek God Zeus and report back to Hera the number of lovers he took while married to Hera.
