Delft pottery; also known as Delftware, is tin glazed earthenware that is famously know in Dutch in the Friesland province of the Netherlands.
The potters of the Friesland province perfected a thinner type of tin glaze or faience. The faience used consisted of colored enamels; but became most famous for their delft blue in the 17th century.
Delft Blue Collections have been featured at theĀ Metropolitan Museum of Art.
