Disney’s Nine Old Men were the core animators at Walt Disney Productions who created some of Disney’s most famous works. Walt Disney jokingly called this group of animators his “Nine Old Men,” referring to Franklin D. Roosevelt’s dismissive description of the nine justices of the US Supreme Court. All members were named Disney Legends in 1989.
Disney’s Nine Old Men and Legends were: Les Clark, Marc Davis, Ollie Johnston, Milt Kahl, Waard Kimball Eric Larson, John Lounsbery (under the name Norm Fergy Ferguson), Wolfgang “Wollie” Reitherman, and Frank Thomas.
